We're 2 for 2! That's 2 clean PET scans in 12 months. We could definitely get used to this! There are even rumors that the port may be removed in the not-too-distant future. Woo-hoo!

If you're still checking, then know that it is appreciated, even if it doesn't appear that way; we realize it must be frustrating not to have more consistent information available. I have a feeling that Elizabeth does not intend to post much positive / non-cancer related news here (it seems she mostly uses this venue to vent, which is why so little has been posted since March's clean PET! Thank God!). She'll correct me if I'm wrong...but only if she checks the site herself! (Ha ha ha!)

Rest assured, that the old adage applies, "No news is good news." With that in mind, let's pray that there is very little reason to update this site in the future!

Signing off for now,
Katrina

Should anyone be checking this blog: Elizabeth has a PET scan scheduled for October 1, 2009. It is the first scan since March (when she got the 100% cancer-free result--see below). We are looking forward to more good news tomorrow.

An update here as soon as I get it....

COMPLETE REMISSION!!!!!!!!!
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING GLOWS.

ARE YOU PEOPLE HEARING ME?

COMPLETE REMISSION!

Hello blogger world.

It's that time again. I'm off for a PET scan. I have about 3 minutes to get ready, and I'm taking one of the to update the blog.
This is an important PET. In comparison with the last PET, it will show whether or not Katrina can hold her own against Fred. Personally, I'm rooting for Katrina's stem cells.
I know most of you already are, but if you could throw just a little bit of extra positive energy and prayer my way today, that would be great.

So..Whats new with me.

Well first off. I've got the house to myself. Mom and Dad split and went off galavanting for a month. Down the East Coast, stopping at verious realatives, all the way to Florida and then back up again. They are currently in Florida. I spoke to mom today and she said it was a little windy but it was supposed to be 70 degrees tomorrow, so maybe she and dad would go in the heated pool.
I think she does these things just to make me jealous. It's frigid outside and windy.
They do have some help in their travels. They just bought a GPS. We had several "lessons" before they took off. I went over it with both of them. (And yet still, Dad somehow managed to convince the GPS that we were in Kansas. It's a satalite...why did it think we were in Kansas?) I woke up to see them off on Wednesday, and then went back to bed. 15 minutes later I get a call from them. I'm sort of assuming they forgot something and are coming back to pick it up. ...Nope. They can't program the GPS and haven't left the driveway. I hope they have it figured out by now. In honor of their travels, here is some road music. It also fits with the picutre I got of Dad visiting David and Jane. Apparently someone let him play with the motorcycles.

The house to myself has given me time to work on my Italy slide show. I want to burn the thing to a DVD so that it can be shown on a tv, but I don't have a DVD Burner. So, on Saturday I went over to Carol's house to use hers, only it didn't seem to work. Especially since I couldn't find any software for it. So, after 3 hours and change over there on Saturday, I gave up and called Steve.
He gave me a link to some DVD software I could try. And that's what I did today. I downloaded the DVD software, and converted my video file, but the thing still wouldn't burn. I think the drive must be broken.

My nephew Zach, to help me salvage my day, helped me set up a Facebook Account. That's right, I'm now on Facebook. It's been 6 hours or so and I have 21 friends. I also finally picked out a picture for my profile. This was in Italy. We were at this great Restaurant in Florence, and I didn't bring a pocketbook, and was wearing a skirt. Where else was I supposed to keep my room key?

I think that's all for now. Hope everyone is staying warm.

This is my view...chillin in the Waldorf.

I decided against room service. I had my soup and...don't get me wrong. It was nice. But I wasn't about to pay $26 for filet mignon that came with no sides. So, instead I went out for Thai...again. I went to the doctor on monday and the four of us. Erica, Drew, Mom and I went to a great thai restaurant. I had a red curry and drew had a yello with mango. We ended up mixing them. It was great!

The doctor visit itself went fine. My medications have been stepped down again and so far i'm doing fine. On the way up to boston, we stopped at my friend's Julies house and I got to play with Kaden. I think he likes me.

And now i'm sitting in the Waldorf. Marta had a ticket, through her company, to the Viennes Opera Ball. Hence, the Waltz playing. She is staying at the Waldorf and I decided to take a mini vacation. I'm sitting in the lobby with my cousin Kate, (who is here with her parents) and were just people watching the people in the gowns and tux and tails. I also had a half a bottle of wine in the room. It's a good thing i brought the wine with me...if I had tried to get this buzz off of room service it would have cost me $70 and a kidney.

I'm actually really sleepy so I'm going to add the picture and post this. Maybe I'll try being more coherent tomorrow.

Hello Bloggers -
Just a quick update. I had a follow up appointment in Boston on Monday. It went fine. I don't have to go back to DFCI for a month! Not much going on this week. We did do some "apple jammin" this past weekend for Erica's wedding. We made a ton of jam. It tasted really good, but I'm not sure I ever want to look at another apple again. Erica's guests had better appreciate the effort.
In other news from Massachusetts....

I would like to introduce someone to you. Do you all remember my friend, Julie? She's the one with the baby bump. Well guess what? The bump is out.

Bloggers? I would like you to meet Kaden Sean.
Mommy and son are doing fine. (Although Julie sounded exhausted when I spoke to her)
And Kaden is adorable. He doesn't even have that smushed baby face that newborns have. Julie and Brendan did good work.
If you have a second, give a Congrats shout out to Julie, Brendan and baby Kaden.
